Jim Carrey (The Majestic), whose water stunts in The Truman Show brought him close to death, to Entertainment Tonight:

“The water sequence (for The Majestic) is in the same pool that I did The Truman Show.The scene you actually see of me, you know, bobbing up and down in the back of the boat in the water in The Truman Show, I’m actually drowning.

“So, it’s interesting if you want to, you know, do the step-by-step at home with the DVD. Just, like, watch me drown. You’ll see that I’m trying to signal the divers like I’m dying.”
