Rachel Weisz returning to New York stage

Actress Rachel Weisz will be turning to her husband, James Bond star Daniel Craig, for inspiration after landing a new role as a secret agent on the New York stage.
The Constant Gardener star will lead director David Leveaux’s revival of David Hare’s play Plenty, about a brave spy who struggles to adjust to life after World War Two.
The production will be staged at the Public Theater during the 2016/2017 season, although specific dates have yet to be announced.
Plenty premiered at the same venue in 1982, before transferring to Broadway in 1983, when it scored a Tony Award nomination for Best Play.
It was also adapted for a 1985 film starring Meryl Streep as lead character Susan Traherne. Ian McKellen, Sting, Charles Dance, and Tracey Ullman also featured in the cast.
Weisz last appeared on the Big Apple stage in 2013, in a Broadway revival of Harold Pinter’s Betrayal, in which she co-starred with her husband.
