Randy Meisner cleared in wife’s shooting

Eagles co-founder Randy Meisner has been cleared in the shooting death of his wife.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department were called to the rocker’s home in Studio City on Sunday (06Mar16), after he told them his wife, 63-year-old Lana Meisner, had committed suicide.
Cops had also been called out to the home of the Take It To The Limit musician earlier in the day to investigate an accusation of domestic violence, but authorities have since determined, “Mrs. Meisner’s death was accidental”.
“As she lifted the rifle in the case, another item within the case shifted and hit the trigger of the rifle causing it to fire and fatally injure Mrs. Meisner,” reads a statement issued by the LAPD.
The spokesperson adds that Randy “was cooperative throughout the investigation”.
A representative for the former Eagles star has yet to comment on the tragedy.
Randy, who left the Eagles in 1977, had been married to Lana for nearly 20 years.
