Rashida Jones named as Maison Kitsune brand ambassador

Rashida Jones has been named as Maison Kitsune’s first-ever brand ambassador.

The actress, known for her roles on TV shows such as Parks and Recreation and Angie Tribeca, has also built up a reputation for her sophisticated personal style over the years.

Now, 42-year-old Jones is to showcase her passion for fashion in a series of adverts for Maison Kitsune, the brand created in 2002 by Gildas Loaec, a former manager of the French electronic music duo Daft Punk, and Masaya Kuroki, an architect.

“We were a fan of what she was doing as an actress and also her work with documentaries,” said Loaec of casting Jones, according to WWD.

The brand co-founders went on to explain that the American star was a natural fit to front campaigns for the growing label, which is looking to make a major push into the United States at the moment.
It also helped that Jones is from a creative family, as her mother is actress Peggy Lipton and her father is legendary music producer Quincy Jones.

“We’d been thinking since our brand is young and developing that we would need an international face at some point to further our story and build brand awareness for Maison Kitsune,” added Loaec. “For us, it’s very important to get a bigger awareness and following in America. It is like an echo chamber.

What is happening in America resonates stronger all over the world in terms of show business and the media.”

The first advertisement starring Jones depicts her wearing a white shirt with the tricolour Maison Kitsune fox logo on the front. Her shirt is from the Parisien line, which also includes polo shirts, cardigans, sweatshirts, a baseball cap and a tote bag.

Jones, who recently wrapped shooting on comedy Tag, has previously modelled for fashion label Band of Outsiders and beauty brand Almay.
