Rebecca Ferguson in talks to join Roald Dahl biopic

Actress Rebecca Ferguson is in talks to portray late children’s author Roald Dahl’s wife Patricia Neal in an untitled biopic.
Filmmaker John Hay is directing a movie about the beloved British writer and his actress wife, based on Stephen Michael Shearer’s Neal biography, An Unquiet Life. It will centre on the couple’s life as Dahl penned some of his most famous works, including James and the Giant Peach and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, while Neal returned to acting in the 1960s, according to Variety.
“Patricia Neal was a remarkable woman who managed to maintain her career and win an Oscar while carrying her family through some enormous struggles,” producer Elliot Jenkins says. “On every level her legacy will be safely preserved in Rebecca’s portrayal.”
Principle photography on the film is slated to start in January (18).
Ferguson is currently shooting Mission: Impossible 6.
