Recipe for a Good Marriage

Hollywood.com popped into the Martin Katz store to check out the book launch party for Recipe for a Good Marriage, the latest book by Cheryl Saban (the wife of Power Rangers mogul Haim Saban), where I found the jewelry store loaded with Hollywood power players.

In one corner The Contender‘s Sylvester Stallone and his wife Jennifer Flavin shared a reality show meeting-of-the-minds when petite Paula Abdul stopped by, as gushing with praise for the jewelry as she would be for a plucky American Idol” songbird; Paris‘s mom Kathy Hilton was warmly greeted by Mike and Irina Medavoy, and unlike her daughter didn’t leave any important electronics lying around; Dustin Hoffman and his wife Lisa had to be escorted into the shop by security when the ever-generous actor’s desire to grant autographs caused him to be swarmed by over-eager fans on the street; Angela Bassett got the store tour skinny from Katz himself. Gavin Rossdale

Meanhwile, rock wife Vicky Ionvine (Jimmy’s gal) brought her handsome chum Gavin Rossdale, who left his missus, Gwen Stefani, at home but left the shop with a randomly won parting gift-a weekend getaway at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills-to share with his bride (Flavin also scored in the giveaway: a week in the Bahamas on a charted yacht from Ft. Lauderdale’s Merle Wood & Associates); and Rob Reiner and Arianna Huffington talked, I presume, politics. It’s hard to be sure, as I was so dumbstruck by the gorgeous models clad in Katz finery and slinky La Perla creations. I may have even bought them jewelry. It’s hard to say.
