Robert Plant hates his ‘horrific’ voice on early Led Zeppelin tracks

Robert Plant hates listening to early Led Zeppelin recordings, because his voice sounds “horrific”.
In a new interview with The Guardian, the rock icon admits he thinks he sounds terrible on the 1966 track You Better Run, and wishes he’d have honed his vocals before hitting the studio.
“I wasn’t really what it was all about at all,” he says. “Songs like Babe I’m Going to Leave You… I find my vocals on there horrific now. I really should have shut the f**k up!”
But Plant is happy with his voice now, revealing his former duet partner Alison Krauss really helped him hone his craft while they were recording 2007 album Raising Sand: “I was basically tutored by Alison,” he said. “She’s a very precise singer who’s done more duets than you can shake a stick at, and I was thinking, ‘Help, I’m a rock singer, no matter what I do’.”
