Robin Williams tunnel open

Robin Williams’ tribute tunnel has officially opened in California.
Signs for the Robin Williams Tunnel, which connects the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco to the late funnyman’s beloved Marin County, were erected on Tuesday (01Mar16), months after local government officials announced plans to pay tribute to the actor.
The landmark was previously named the Waldo tunnel, but locals dubbed it the ‘Rainbow Tunnel’ because of the colours displayed on the outside arch.
The Mrs. Doubtfire star, who attended the College of Marin and was a resident of Marin County, was found dead at his home there in August 2014. The 63-year-old comic took his own life.
The signs for the new tunnel were paid for by private donations.
