Rod Stewart writes foreword to former bandmate’s new book

British rocker Robin Le Mesurier’s two band leaders Rod Stewart and Johnny Hallyday have contributed to the musician’s upcoming biography.
Stewart has penned the foreword to A Charmed Rock ‘n’ Roll Life, while French superstar Hallyday is among the big names adding anecdotes and tributes to the guitarist, who is the son of British comedy legends John Le Mesurier and Hattie Jacques.
Robin was a member of Rod’s band studio and touring band from 1980 to 1987, and he teamed up with Hallyday in the mid-1990s.
His memoir also features contributions from Rolling Stones star Ronnie Wood and Bernie Taupin, who was a member of Le Mesurier’s band Farm Dogs.
“Robin shares the story of his childhood and upbringing where his famous parents kept an open house at No. 67 Eardley Crescent, that was full of the great British acting talent of the day – Barbara Windsor, Tony Hancock and Sid James, to name a few,” a press release reads. “With a foreword from Sir Rod and contributions from Johnny Hallyday, Bernie Taupin, Ronnie Wood and Joan Le Mesurier, Robin’s autobiography is an insight into his bohemian family and his unstoppable music career.”
