Rula Lenska banned from driving after crash

Actress Rula Lenska has been given a 16-month driving ban.
The former Coronation Street actress clipped a stationary vehicle and flipped her car while driving her Mini in Twickenham, south west London last month (Feb16).
Rula and her three-year-old grandson, who was a passenger in the back seat of the car, had to escape through the vehicle’s boot (trunk).
Lenska took a breath test on the scene and was arrested on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol after results suggested she was well over the limit.
She was later charged and released on bail.
The actor’s solicitor, Seema Parikh, claimed his client had been drinking vodka in the afternoon alongside her builders to mark the completion of a new garden fence, but she apparently felt “absolutely fine” by the evening, when her daughter asked her to take her grandson home.
On Friday (04Mar16) at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court, the lawyer revealed Lenska would be forever remorseful over the incident.
As well as the drinking ban, Lenska was ordered to pay over $352 (£410) in fines and costs.
Lenska, 68, was once married to British actor Dennis Waterman, and has appeared in TV shows EastEnders, Doctor Who, Minder, and Rock Follies.
