Russell Crowe’s rep defends star after Winter’s Tale complaints

Residents in the Red Hook neighbourhood of Brooklyn are attempting to rebuild their streets after the devastation of superstorm Sandy, and claim they were told the shoot would have left the area by Thanksgiving (22Nov12) last week.

But the cast and crew have yet to clear out, causing traffic jams and taking up parking spaces needed by volunteers who are cleaning up the damage.

Several claimed Crowe was to blame after allegedly failing to turn up to the set, but a spokesperson is adamant the star showed up on time.

The rep tells New York Post gossip column Page Six, “There is no truth to this… (Crowe’s) scheduled first day of shooting was (25 November).”

A source close to the production adds, “It’s not true at all that Russell missed any days on set. Schedules for every production filming in New York have been shuffled because of Sandy… The film’s been working closely with the City of New York, and everything has been above board.”
