Sarah Jessica Parker’s new movie wig was from Sex and the City

Sarah Jessica Parker brought back a piece of her Sex And The City wardrobe for new movie Here And Now by recycling one of her character’s first wigs.
For the romantic drama, in which the actress stars as a jazz singer who receives a fatal diagnosis, Sarah Jessica’s typically long hair is styled into a wavy shoulder-length bob, which she reveals was actually a wig.
But it wasn’t just any old hair piece; the 53 year old first wore it onscreen 20 years ago for her TV debut as sex columnist Carrie Bradshaw.
“That was a wig that I wore as Carrie Bradshaw when she arrives in New York and she’s got like, a cut sweatshirt and a bad perm…,” Parker recalled on U.S. breakfast show Today.
“I kept all those (wigs from the show), so I was like, ‘Oh, I know what I have…’ I think it was in a storage unit in Brooklyn somewhere.”
The prop came in handy for filmmakers as the independent movie was made on such a small budget, unlike the Sex and the City blockbusters the actress, who also serves as a producer, had previously worked on.
The fact that Sarah Jessica had held on to her Carrie wigs shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to fans, as she previously explained she had “95 per cent” of her onscreen wardrobe, much of which was made up of designer duds, archived away.
“I have it all,” she smiled during an interview at New York’s 2017 Vulture Festival. “I don’t touch it or wear it, but all of that is really meaningful.”
