Sean Gunn: ‘We’re making the third Guardians of the Galaxy for the fans’

Sean Gunn has a strong feeling “everything’s gonna work itself out” when it comes to Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3.

Franchise star Sean’s big brother James Gunn was the man behind the first two films, writing and directing the Marvel smash hits, before he was fired by Disney after old tweets he sent joking about paedophilia resurfaced.

The cast, including the 44-year-old, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista and Vin Diesel, have rallied around in support of James, 52, and now Sean says the Guardians ‘family’ will definitely push ahead with the third installment for the fans.

“I don’t know exactly how that’s all gonna work,” he admitted to Variety. “But I feel like we are going to make the third movie, I’m excited to make it, I think it’s a disservice to the fans if we didn’t make it and I know the people who worked on the Guardians movies are really a family, and we’re gonna come together and make the best movie we can regardless of who’s in charge.

“I just have this feeling everything’s gonna work itself out.”

As well as the films’ stars, fans also petitioned to get James reinstated at the helm of Vol. 3, and Marvel boss Kevin Feige recently confirmed that the writer and director’s script will be used for the upcoming movie. A new director is yet to be announced.

However, production on the project has stalled due to other commitments at Marvel, with the shoot schedule being moved back from early 2019 to a later date.
