Security to Dylan: Keep out!

Someone should have warned Bob Dylan that if you want to get backstage at a concert, you should always wear your pass.

Before his performance at the Jackson County Exposition in Oregon last Tuesday night, the singer was stopped at a checkpoint because he wasn’t wearing a backstage badge.

According to The Associated Press, it is still unclear whether the three security guards at the door recognized Dylan.

“If it was George Strait, they probably would have recognized him,” venue manager Chris Borovansky told AP.

The mishap occurred after the musician asked to have tighter security during his arena tour in support of his latest album Love and Theft, released on Sept. 11.

“He said no exceptions,” Bovovansky said. “Absolutely none.”

According to AP, Dylan wasn’t able to go backstage until his security director went to get the singer and then demanded that the guards be thrown out.

However, Borovansky puts it in nicer terms. “We prefer the term ‘relocated.'” Although he claims that later Dylan told the guards they did a “great job.”
