Sharon Stone: ‘I’m not looking for love anymore’

Sharon Stone has given up on love and now wants to focus on life as a single mum.
The Basic Instinct actress has been divorced twice and now admits she’d rather skip dating in favour of putting all her attention into parenting her three adopted sons.
“I don’t think that looking (for love) is finding,” she explains to U.S. news show Entertainment Tonight. “I really feel that there’s a propinquity (kinship) to a way that love comes into people’s lives. There’s a certain magic to it.”
The 59-year-old star, who is mother to Roan, 16, Laird, 12, and 10-year-old Quinn, admits she quit the dating scene because her emotional investment into parenthood essentially took over her personal life.
“I have so much love with my kids,” Sharon shares. “I have three little kids, and that’s not particularly, in this town and environment, there’s not a lot of men that think, ‘Gee, I’d like to date her and be the baby daddy of three little kids’. So, it kind of took me out of the dating sphere.”
Convinced that having her hands full as a mum deters potential suitors, Sharon has come to accept being a single mum.
“I matured into understanding that’s how it was going to be,” she notes. “I am OK with that, because it’s much more interesting to me to have a real and true love, and a real and true relationship with my friends and family, than a pretend relationship with a man that doesn’t have what it takes to step up.”
Sharon was married to television producer Michael Greenburg from 1984 to 1990, while she also tied the knot with acclaimed journalist Phil Bronstein in 1998, but their marriage ended in divorce six years later (04).
