Show must go on for Broadway stars despite blizzard

Traffic across Manhattan ground to a halt on Sunday evening (26Dec10) as 19 inches (48.3 centimetres) of snow descended upon the city, causing major airports to shut down and public transportation delays.

However, Paul Libin, chairman of The Broadway League, says it will be business as usual for Broadway shows like Green Day-inspired musical American Idiot, Billy Elliot and Promises, Promises, with productions going on as scheduled on Monday (27Dec10).

Libin added that cancellations may mean hard-to-get seats may be available, reports the Associated Press.
