Sia ditches face disguise for Sesame Street guest spot

Sia ditched her signature face-covering wig while filming a guest appearance on Sesame Street.
The Australian songstress typically conceals her face behind a black and platinum checkerboard hairpiece in an attempt to maintain her privacy.
While filming a spot on the popular children’s programme on Wednesday (02March16) she opted to go without her famous headwear, giving fans a glimpse of her pretty face. She did, however, don a red clown nose for her part on the show.
In photos posted on Twitter, the Chandelier singer is seen on set with some of the Sesame Street regulars, including Cookie Monster, Elmo and Big Bird.
She later posted to social media: “Having the BEST time today at @sesamestreet.”
Other pictures shared by Sesame Street to their social media pages included the singer sporting a big smile while standing alongside puppet character Abby Cadabby.
The 40-year-old recently revealed why she covers her face with headwear during an appearance on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke skit.
She said: “I don’t wear this thing unless there are cameras around. Just trying to maintain a modicum of privacy.”
Before opening up about her past singing career, the Adelaide-born performer discussed the challenges she faced during her leap to fame.
“I was a singer already for like 10 or 11 years to mediocre success, and I was an alcoholic and a drug addict, and I sobered up and decided I didn’t want to be an artist anymore,” she revealed.
