Singer Carly Pearce makes history on Billboard chart

Music newcomer Carly Pearce has become the third woman to top the U.S. Billboard’s Country Airplay chart with a debut single in almost 12 years.
Her song Every Little Thing jumped two places to number one this week (begs13Nov17), achieving a feat last scored by Kelsea Ballerini in July, 2015, when Love Me Like You Mean It climbed to number one.
They both follow in the footsteps of Carrie Underwood, who launched her career with Jesus, Take the Wheel in 2006.
“You work so hard, dreaming and praying you’ll be able to do this professionally in any capacity,” Pearce gushes to Billboard. “To have (Every Little Thing) come from such a real place in my life and to have done what it’s done is indescribable. To be alongside Carrie and Kelsea is the greatest honour. All I’ve ever wanted to do is sing country music. Every dream is coming true.”
The tune is the title track from Pearce’s debut album, which was released last month (Oct17).
