Sunday in ‘Rome’

Rome – HBO

It was a solid freshman season for HBO’s Rome and, with last week’s season 2 premiere, the ferocious series picked-up right where it left off.

In tonight’s episode, “Son of Hades,” bratty and pompous Octavian and his endless pleas for his mother’s inheritance infuriate Mark Antony. Elsewhere, temperamental, yet noble Vorenus must calm the chaos that has erupted amongst the Aventine merchants, and is ordered to take over the reigns of another position.

With Caesar dead, those still living in the Empire are forced to pick-up the pieces and–if this season is anything like the first–lots of blood will be shed, power will be sought, and the quest for survival will be a desperate one.

Rome airs tonight at 9/8c on HBO.
