Sylvester Stallone Buys Backup Rocky Movie Statue

Sylvester Stallone now owns a piece of movie history after buying a Rocky statue for $400,000.

Two Rocky sculptures were made by A. Thomas Schomberg for Stallone’s films Rocky and Rocky III, with the original featured onscreen in both movies, before being installed on the steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art in Pennsylvania.

The second piece was housed at the San Diego Hall of Champions, but it now resides in Stallone’s house in California. The actor bought the figure for $403,700 last month (Nov17) and it was delivered to him just before Christmas.
