Terence Stamp to play Norse god Odin in new epic

Movie veteran Terence Stamp is to play Odin, the Viking god of war and wisdom in a new movie.
The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert star will team up with Game of Thrones actor Ian Beattie for director David L.G. Hughes’ Viking Destiny, which is currently among the films being sold at the Cannes Film Festival.
The epic odyssey adventure follows “the lives and legendary crusades of Scandinavian explorers and especially the first female Viking leader”.
Principal photography on the movie begins in Northern Ireland later this month (May17).
A brief synopsis reads: “Viking Destiny is about Princess Helle of Volsung who is forced to flee her kingdom after being framed for the murder of her father, the King. Under the guidance of a Viking god (Terence Stamp) she travels the world gaining wisdom and building the army she needs to win back her throne of the Viking Kingdom. In order to seize her legacy, she must cultivate the predatory instincts of a hellcat and the skills of a ruthless warrior.”
