The ’10’ List

1. Prison Break star Wentworth Miller, for his creative idea to boost the show’s ratings. “In the last episode of the season, we slip into the prison’s sewer systems, up through these grates, and pop out a hatch,” Miller joked. “And we’re face-to-face with Matthew Fox (Lost), and we spend season two on a tropical beach.”

2. Rapper Snoop Dogg, for putting his name to good use. Snoop Dogg is launching his own line of pet products in conjunction with manufacturer Jakks Pacific. The novelty products, set to hit shops later this year, include leashes, treats, toys and doggy beds.

3. Bad Boy Entertainment mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, for defending the dead. Combs has launched an appeal against the sales ban imposed on Notorious BIG’s breakthrough album Ready to Die. Last week, a jury decided the late rapper’s title track features an illegal sample of the Ohio Players’ 1992 song “Singing in the Morning.”

4. Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s last-minute episode of South Park, for putting Scientologist Isaac Hayes in his place. When Hayes requested to be released from his contract because the show mocked his religion, the show’s creators agreed–and killed off his character SP style.

5. Sony Pictures, for unearthing a gold mine, sort of. After searching their film library, the studio discovered 10 additional minutes to the 1986 movie Platoon featuring Johnny Depp, who played a private in the Oscar-winning film. Most of his performance ended up on the cutting room floor.

6. Singer Gloria Estefan, for her generosity. Estefan, who was temporarily paralyzed after a tour bus accident in accident in Pennsylvania 16 years ago, is donating $1 million to create a human clinical trials program at the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis in Florida.

7. Baretta star Robert Blake, for grabbing a good opportunity. One year after he was acquitted of murdering his wife Bonnie Lee Bakley, Blake is planning an acting comeback. The 72-year-old actor was forced to declare bankruptcy in 2005 when a court asked him to pay his wife’s family $30 million damages in a civil suit.

8. Kirsten Dunst‘s new period movie Marie Antoinette, for being an early contender in France. The Sofia Coppola-directed film was selected to compete at the 59th Cannes Film Festival, which runs between May 17 and 28.

9. The Simpsons, for being here to stay. Fox’s animated series, currently in its 17th season, will be screened until at least 2008. It is the longest-running prime-time entertainment show in the country.

10. Harry Potter star Rupert Grint, for trying to escape being typecast The 17-year-old star–who plays bumbling Ron Weasley in the big screen film adaptations—said he would like play a bad guy in a gritty Quentin Tarantino film.
