1. Pop singer Justin Timberlake, for landing his first Hollywood leading role. Timberlake will be play top bill as a tough renegade soldier in the war film Stop the Loss.
2. George Clooney, for his Internet vengeance. Clooney has called on celebrities to bombard the New York City Web site Gawker.com with bogus celebrity sightings in a concerted effort crash the site. Gawker.com recently started posting instant sightings of stars and their exact whereabouts.
3. Director Robert Luketic, for being right. Luketic quit the film adaptation of the 1980s TV show Dallas because he was unhappy with some of the casting choices. Among those actors already on board to play members of the Ewing clan arere John Travolta as J.R., Jennifer Lopez as Sue Ellen, Luke Wilson as Bobby, and Shirley MacLaine as Miss Ellie.
4. Scarlett Johansson, for being named the world’s sexiest woman–at least according to one magazine. FHM readers voted Johansson No. 1 on the annual 100 Sexiest Women in the World list.
5. The city of Los Angeles, for honoring this year’s Best Picture Oscar winner and its message of racial tolerance. L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa declared Tuesday ‘Crash Day’ in honor of film studio Lions Gate, director Paul Haggis and the film’s cast and crew at City Hall.
6. Comic book legend Stan Lee, for inspiring would be superheroes. Lee and the Sci Fi channel are looking for potential superheroes for a new reality show. Aspiring superheroes with an idea and a costume are being encouraged to send in audition tapes or attend an in-person casting call in Los Angeles April 4.
7. George Clooney’s Oscar goodies, for being put to good use. The star’s bag of Oscar goodies fetched $45,100 at an online auction for United Way to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina.The bag contained a host of items including a BlackBerry 8700c and a Kay Unger kimono.
8. Comedian George Lopez, for getting some much-deserved recognition. Lopez was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles earlier this week.
9. Reverend Run, for his successful comeback. Run-DMC star Joseph ‘Reverend Run’ Simmons is planning the second season of his reality show Run’s House as a self-help guide for men struggling to raise a family.
10. Designer Vera Wang, for cementing her bridal gown icon status. Jessica Simpson’s beaded pearl dress wedding gown topped a poll In Touch magazine’s Most Glamorous Wedding Gowns.
