The Artist wins big with London Critics

The black and white film, which was a triple winner at the Golden Globes in Los Angeles on Sunday night (15Jan12), was honoured with another three trophies by British reviewers on Thursday (19Jan12), including Film of the Year.

The movie’s star Jean Dujardin won Actor of the Year and Michel Hazanavicius was named Director of the Year.

Other winners included Meryl Streep, who scooped the Actress of the Year award for The Iron Lady, tying with True Blood’s Anna Paquin, who was honoured for her role in Kenneth Lonergan’s drama Margaret.

Michael Fassbender took the British Actor of the Year prize for Shame and A Dangerous Method, while Kenneth Branagh was named Supporting Actor of the Year for My Week with Marilyn.

Tilda Swinton’s We Need To Talk About Kevin was given the Attenborough Award for British Film of the Year.
