The Beatles to release historic fan Christmas messages

Musical Christmas messages The Beatles recorded for their biggest fans are to be released for the first time.
Between 1963 and 1969 the Fab Four, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, kept up an annual holiday tradition of sending out flexi disc recordings of skits, songs and greetings to members of their fan club.
The recordings have been collected and will be available as a box set of coloured vinyl singles alongside a 16-page booklet with recording notes and reproductions of newsletters sent out to fans with the messages.
The group’s iconic 1967 album Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band is also to be released again as a special edition vinyl. The new version features mixes of tracks that appeared on June’s (17) 50th anniversary edition of the record, along with alternate takes of the album’s songs.
The Beatles: The Christmas Records and the deluxe edition of Sgt. Pepper’s will be available from 15 December.
