A federal judge has awarded rocker Bruce Springsteen copyright control of an album of his early songs, Reuters reports. Independent music company Pony Express Records has been forbidden to sell any more copies of the album and have been ordered to destroy any existing copies. The album Before the Fame contains over two dozen songs composed by Springsteen between 1970 and 1972. His former manager kept the tapes for 20 years and sold the rights in 1990 to Pony Express without Springsteen’s consent. Springsteen will seek an undisclosed amount in damages based on the company’s profits.
