 Welcome to Mooseport

Welcome to Mooseport, a sleepy, idyllic Maine community. Mooseport also just happens to be the vacation home for the leader of the free world: Monroe “Eagle” Cole, the former president of the United States (Gene Hackman). After two successful terms, the wildly popular president is ready to retire to his “Mooseport White House,” until the folks of Mooseport convince him to run for mayor. His opponent is the local hardware store owner, Handy Harrison (Ray Romano), whose veterinarian girlfriend Sally (Maura Tierney) sparks with Cole. As the campaign kicks into high gear, things get even wilder in this once-quiet town.

What’s Cool:
  • Commentary by director Donald Petrie
  • Deleted scenes with optional director’s commentary
  • Outtake reel
  • Inside look at upcoming 20th Century Fox features
From Our Review:
Director Donald Petrie fails to capitalize on his talented cast and by not exploiting the film’s comedic heavy-hitters, delivers a lightweight comedy that’s startlingly short on laughs.

From Our Review:
Despite its been-there, done-that theme, Miracle stirs your emotions anyway, watching those American comeback kids trounce the big, bad Soviet Goliaths in a hockey game to end them all.
