The King’s Speech crowned top movie in Britain again

The film, about stuttering monarch King George VI, scooped a massive 14 British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Awards nominations on Tuesday (18Jan11), and it also raked in $6.6 million (£4.4 million) during its second week of release in the U.K. – more than double any other movie in the rundown.

It fought off competition from The Green Hornet, starring Seth Rogen, which came in second with $2.7 million (£1.8 million), and Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours, with takings of $1.9 million (£1.3 million).

Gulliver’s Travels is at four with $1.87 million (£1.25 million), while Little Fockers rounds out the top five with earnings of $1.83 million (£1.22 million).
