30 Rock airs Thursday at 930/830c on NBC
At first, in the battle between Tina Fey’s 30 Rock and Aaron Sorkin’s Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip to see who would reign as NBC’s supreme skit-show-within-a-show, it was anything but easy to get behind Fey. While enjoying past success writing for SNL and the Lindsay Lohan film, Mean Girls, she never was the Sorkin-like, sole voice driving a weekly network success.
But a few months later and despite star Tracy Morgan’s real life drunk driving arrest, Fey and company are the clear victors with a spot entrenched in the new must-see Thursday lineup, while Studio 60 still struggles to develop its rhythm.
Tonight, Fey’s Liz Lemon finally gets fed up with her lowly, beeper salesman boyfriend and scours the single’s scene under the guidance of neurotic Jenna. Also, nervy network executive Jack discovers the down side of dating a member of the Bush administration.
