Tina Fey upset at missed Caitlyn Jenner meeting

Actress Tina Fey was disappointed after missing out on a meeting with Caitlyn Jenner at the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty.
The 30 Rock star was among the Hollywood A-listers invited to attend the big bash following Sunday’s (28Feb16) Academy Awards, and she was particularly eager to meet the transgender retired Olympian.
“That night is pretty bananas because you see everybody,” she recalled on U.S. morning show Live! With Kelly & Michael. “I went to the Vanity Fair party and I saw Caitlyn Jenner came in, and I was trying so hard to (catch her attention).
“I was trying to be, like, her new friend, have an interaction with her, but she was through the room (gone); she was a big deal.”
Although Tina didn’t get to chat to Kim Kardashian’s step-parent, she did make a new friend in Selena Gomez.
“I saw Selena Gomez,” she continued. “You know it’s a crazy party when you’re like, ‘Oh, I’ll talk to Selena Gomez’. Usually (I’ll talk to) somebody I know, (but) I don’t know Selena Gomez!”
Tina must have been eager to let loose after recently admitting the Oscars ceremony itself was a bit of a bore.
She was a guest presenter at the Dolby Theatre event, but the comedienne quickly grew irritated with all of the social activism messages from her fellow celebrities.
Tina felt it was hypocritical to hear about topics including “corporate greed” from a room full of “rich people”, while she was also just confused by the sheer number of varying issues stars were trying to address during the prizegiving.
“Halfway through (the Oscars), I was like, ‘This is some real Hollywood bulls**t’,” she told U.S. radio host Howard Stern. “Everyone’s telling me what to do. People are yelling at me about rape and corporate greed, but really it’s climate change. I was like, ‘Guys, pick a lane. Like, we’re going to fix everything tonight?’ And also, like, ‘You’re all rich. Why are you yelling at me about corporate greed?'”
