Tom Hanks accidentally hit with hockey stick

Tom Hanks was hit on the head with a flying hockey stick at a Los Angeles Kings game on Sunday (27Mar16).
The two-time Oscar winner was accidentally struck when the stick was flung over the glass barrier by a Kings player eager to give it to a fan.
An eyewitness told Entertainment Tonight that Tom, 59, was thankfully not hurt and appeared to laugh off the mishap as he continued to watch the game alongside his wife Rita Wilson and son.
Rita also posted a group selfie on Twitter from the hockey game, writing alongside the snap: “@tomhanks and I posting this because the guys photobomb ing us asked us to.”
Tom and Rita, who starred together in 1993 movie Sleepless in Seattle, frequently work together and recently produced comedy sequel My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, which came out on general release in the U.S. and U.K. last week (ends27Mar16).
Managing their work-life balance is something the couple has perfected, mainly by not talking about their careers during their time off.
“It’s our lives day in and day out we really don’t talk about it much… that would really be so boring to come home and talk about it over dinner as well,” Tom told Entertainment Tonight. “I walk away from my responsibilities as a producer any chance I get.”
Tom is also hoping to join his spouse when she hits the road to promote her debut singer-songwriter album.
“I’m going to hop on and off that bus I’m not going to miss out on the rock and roll tour bus experience,” he said.
“I got a lava lamp all ready to plug in, I got some black line posters.” Rita jokingly added: “Our drug of choice is chocolate.”
Rita’s self titled album is out now. She kicked off her U.S. tour in April, starting in Solana Beach, California, with a penultimate gig at the Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Turner Hall Ballroom on 4 May 16.
Tom and Rita, 59, have been married for 28 years and have two sons together, Chester, 25, and Truman, 20. Rita is also stepmother to Tom’s other children, son Colin Hanks, 38, and writer daughter Elizabeth, 33, whose mother is the actor’s first wife Samantha Lewes.
