Tommy Mottola sued over book advance

Music mogul Tommy Mottola is facing legal action amid allegations he pocketed a $150,000 (£106,500) advance for a book he never delivered.
Bosses at the Hachette Book Group claim they signed a deal with the former Sony boss in 2011 to pen The Bronx School of Business, based on his rise to success from his roots in the rough New York borough.
According to papers filed in Manhattan federal court on Monday (22Feb16), Mariah Carey’s ex-husband failed to submit the finished manuscript by the agreed date of April, 2012, after Hachette chiefs twice offered to extend the deadline, reports the New York Post.
The publishers are now believed to be seeking the return of their funds from the 66-year-old.
Mottola’s representatives have yet to comment on the lawsuit.
