Toni Braxton postpones tour start following hospitalisation

R&B singer Toni Braxton has been forced to postpone the two opening dates of her tour following her recent hospitalisation.
The Un-Break My Heart star spent the weekend (01-02Oct16) in a Los Angeles hospital for complications related to her battle with chronic illness lupus.
She was discharged on Monday (03Oct16) to recover at home, and she has postponed the first two dates of her The Hits tour, originally set for Oakland and Los Angeles in California over the weekend (08-09Oct16), so she can continue to rest. The Hits tour will now begin on 12 October (16) in Detroit, Michigan.
“I am so excited about going back on the road and seeing all of my wonderful fans and friends,” she said in a statement to E! Online. “Everyone’s life is complicated and this is just a condition that I live with.”
“Hey guy! I will begin #TheHitsTour in Detroit next Wednesday, October 12th,” she also tweeted. “The originally scheduled first two dates of the tour planned for October 8th in Oakland and October 9th in LA are being postponed until January 28 and 29.”
Toni has been suffering from lupus, which can cause extreme tiredness, joint pain, and rashes, since 2010 and her representative issued a statement following her release from hospital calling it a “serious disease and must be monitored at all times.”
She added, “Toni is resting at home and she is fine. She was in an L.A. hospital for a few days, being treated for her Lupus. She has been released and starts rehearsals for her upcoming tour this week.”
The singer previously told the Huffington Post in 2015 that getting onstage while she feels unwell is difficult but she has yet to cancel a show and sometimes relies on the audience more to get her through the performance.
