Top 10 Hollywood Dream Teams

This week’s action-adventure film The Forbidden Kingdom finally brings together the two most famous martial artists since Bruce LeeJackie Chan and Jet Li have been kicking around Hollywood for decades before finally meeting for this grudge match. It makes us wonder what other legendary pairings Hollywood should work on bringing together. Every once in a while they put together screen legends, like Al Pacino and Robert De Niro in Heat or Jay Leno and Pat Morita in Collision Course (kidding). Here are the top 10 dream teams we’d like to see on the silver screen.

10. Kim Basinger and Michelle Pfeiffer
In the 1980s, these two were the ultimate Hollywood beauties, even transcending Wonder Woman’s Linda Carter with their luminescence. Fast forward 20 years and they look as good, if not even better than ever. It’s not too late to bring these two cougars together for the ultimate gawk fest–or should we say, acting exercise.[PAGEBREAK]

9. Samuel L. Jackson and Morgan Freeman
These actors say they compete for the same roles all the time anyway, so it makes sense they should team up at some point. They must have the most powerful, booming voices in Hollywood so why not just put them together? Just picture it: Freeman could narrate with somber intensity while Jackson screams profanities about all the motherf***ers messing with him. We smell Oscar.[PAGEBREAK]

8. Jim Carrey and Robin Williams
If there were ever two uncontrollable comedy forces in Hollywood they are Jim Carrey and Robin Williams. They both like to be front and center, but we think it’s high time these two teamed up for some of the most outrageous voices and faces in Tinsel Town.  [PAGEBREAK]

7. Julie Andrews and Jennifer Hudson
Let’s team the classic musical ingénue with the newest musical sensation. Andrews is a bit down on her voice since her throat surgery, but to all of our novice ears, she still sounds good. Either way, she could play the famous diva teaching the new flavor of the month how to be a star.  [PAGEBREAK]

6. Penelope Cruz and Antonio Banderas
How did Pedro Almodovar miss the opportunity to get his two greatest exports together? He discovered each of them separately and put them in all his movies, but never at the same time. Imagine all the Latin heat that would sizzle with these two in a love story. [PAGEBREAK]

5. Russell Crowe and Daniel Day Lewis
We’d love to see these two method actors go head-to-head on screen. We’re thinking a period piece so they could really immerse themselves in the research or maybe it should be a sci-fi film set in the future. You know, just to give them a challenge.[PAGEBREAK]

4. Jodie Foster and Meryl Streep
These ladies are truly the two biggest powerhouses when it comes to serious acting. Both play dramatic roles with gravitas. This pairing would be like the Heat of chick flicks. Maybe Streep is on her deathbed and Foster is the scientist desperately searching for a cure. Foster even cites Streep as her favorite actor, so somebody’s agent should make this happen. [PAGEBREAK]

3. Mark Wahlberg and Mark L. Walberg
This would be the real Moment of Truth. Put the Oscar nominated box office sensation up against the reality TV show host who’s cashing in on the same name. Walberg is all smug with his little index cards of questions, but Wahlberg is a tough kid from Boston. He can smack that smirk off his imposter’s face. [PAGEBREAK]

2. Nicolas Cage and Johnny Depp
No matter how weird their roles got, these actors just couldn’t help becoming huge stars. We just love to see what crazy characters they’ll come up with next, so why not join forces and do the ultimate weirdo buddy movie? Cage can be all mellow until he freaks out, and Depp could do some elaborate costume and effeminate voice. It’ll be great! [PAGEBREAK]

1. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone
Obviously, this was the big match-up that it seemed the entire ’80s were leading up to, only it never happened. They teamed up in real life to open a restaurant, but if the Terminator and Rambo got together, no bad guy would stand a chance. So stop voting for Arnold. We need him back in Hollywood to make this dream team finally happen!
