A Maryland mother is suing Trick Daddy, AOL Time Warner and Atlantic Records, claiming that the album Thugs Are Us, labeled as “clean,” actually contained explicit lyrics, Launch.com reports. The plaintiff is alleging misrepresentation to consumers and is seeking actual damages as well as attorney fees. Jon D. Pels, the plaintiff’s lawyer, claims a song from the album makes an unedited reference to oral sex. The mother approached Pels after she purchased the CD for her son. A pretrial date has been set for Dec. 21. If a ruling goes in the plaintiff’s favor, Maryland residents who purchased the clean version of the CD would receive refunds.
