[IMG:L]American Idol — 8/7c on Fox
And then there were three–well, really two.
Like it or not, Syesha Mercado’s elimination from American Idol after tomorrow night’s results show is pretty much a foregone conclusion.
Which renders tonight’s show somewhat anticlimactic–unless you’re willing to suspend disbelief and think that Mercado has a shot against the behemoth Davids: Cook and Archuleta.
The mathematical facts are these: Since March 12, Syesha has been amongst the lowest vote-getters (aka the bottom three or two) on an almost weekly basis; Cook and Archuleta, meanwhile, have never, not once, sat in the “bottom” stools, always heading straight for the “safe” couches.
It’s a wonder that Syesha–who, regardless of her low vote totals, deserves to be here talent-wise–has escaped elimination so many times, but not this week.
The final three will fittingly be singing a trio of songs–one chosen by them, one chosen by the judges and one chosen by the producers.
