[IMG:L]A skewed reunion?
CBS’s freshman series The Class, which debuted with only 12 episodes this season, left me wanting more. In the season (or series?) finale, Yonk suffered a heart attack, forcing Nicole to rethink her decision to leave her now ailing husband for the love of her life and high school sweetie Duncan. To make matters worse, Yonk’s cranky daughter Penny came to lend her support. And by support, I mean eating half the vending machine and ruining some pretty intense conversation. Kat, meanwhile, experienced The Anger stage of a breakup after she discovered Benjamin was two timing her. But after a couple of drinks, she moved on to another stage of the breakup phase: a steamy make-out session with Duncan! The plot thickens. And I almost forgot, Lina and Richie–who I am pretty sure is still married to Fern–got engaged. It happened after he asked her to get busy in a closet at the hospital. What a lucky girl. Hopefully, we’ll get to see what happens, since the network has yet to commit on a second season.
[IMG:R]Tick tick boom
On ABC’s Lost island… It must be nice to play ping-pong on the beach while your three “friends” Sayid, Kate and Locke dodge bullets, literally. Scratch that, your two friends. Locke was playing chess and blowing up yet another hatch. And it looks as though Sayid threw the Lost viewing party at his house this week. What am I talking about?
[IMG:L]Of course, Fox’s American Idol
With 16 Idol hopefuls remaining, the contestants had one more chance to prove they deserved to be in the Top 12. Tuesday night started out the same as any other night in the competition when the guys perform. Randy “keeps it real” by telling them it wasn’t one of their best performances. Paula tells them they look great. And, well, Simon makes fun of Sanjaya’s hair. It wasn’t until Chris Sligh’s performance that the judges finally perked up. Sligh was granted the vocal crown of the night–and he deserved it. But it’s the women who are keeping this competition entertaining. Gina finally found her niche in rock and roll, Antonella bombed once again and Simon made me giggle like a schoolgirl. Unfortunately, Jared, Sabrina, Sundance and Antonella’s voices and dazzling, umm, personalities weren’t enough to secure them a spot in the Top 12. Sanjaya’s hair somehow helped him sail through yet another round in the competition. And luckily for Antonella, she has plenty of other opportunities knocking on her door.
Until next week…
