Wesley Snipes to pay $9.5 million in back taxes

Wesley Snipes has been ordered to pay $9.5 million (£7.3 million) in back taxes.
The Blade star, who was convicted in 2008 for failing to file tax returns, lost an appeal for a retrial in 2010 and subsequently began serving his three-year prison sentence that December.
He was released in 2013 and has been fighting officials at America’s Internal Revenue Service over paying back $23.5 million (£18.1 million) in back taxes.
Snipes reportedly offered to pay $850,000 (£655,600), insisting that figure was all he had to settle his debt, but IRS officials denied his offer and kept the 2013 lien against him in place.
The 56 year old asked court officials to overturn the decision, but on Thursday (01Nov18) U.S. Tax Court Judge Kathleen Kerrigan ruled against him, declaring that he did not provide the proper proof of his assets and financial situation.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, he now owes the $9.5 million IRS officials wanted him to originally pay to settle the case.
