Whoopi Goldberg creates second line of ugly holiday sweaters

Whoopi Goldberg has put her design hat back on to create a second line of ugly holiday sweaters.
Ghost actress Whoopi got well and truly into the Christmas spirit last year (16) when she unveiled a kitsch 11-piece collection dedicated to the traditions of the festive holiday.
But proving she’s not a flash in the pan when it comes to fashion, Whoopi has designed 12 new sweaters perfect to chill out in after overindulging this Yuletide.
“Well, doing it once is a knock-off – when you do it a second time, you are starting a tradition, which is the inspiration behind creating the collection,” Whoopi smiled to People magazine.
And in a statement, the Oscar winner opened up further.
“This started with my love for what were once thought of as ‘ugly’ Christmas sweaters. My collection is for anyone with a sense of humour, joy, and wonder, no matter how you celebrate the holidays,” she said.
“I learned (since last year) that people love holiday sweaters even when they say they don’t. And they love them even more when they are funny. Even people who claimed not to be into them would buy them because they were fun conversation starters.”
The inclusive line includes a Chanukah sweater and a Rabbi sitting with an elf design for those celebrating the Jewish holiday, a Kwanzaa sweater honouring the African celebration and a white Santa hula dancing with a black Mrs Clause, among other festive options.
Available to purchase on website Zappos, all the designs are priced at $89 (£67), which is $50 (£37) lower than last year’s price tag.
