Will Smith’s one wish for his 50th birthday was for his wife Jada Pinkett Smith to jump out of a plane.
The Men in Black actor reached the milestone age in September (18) and celebrated by bungee jumping out of a helicopter over the Grand Canyon.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday night (24Jan19) Jada spoke about Will’s stunt and also shared how he begged her to go sky diving too.
“Will Smith turned 50 and so he said, ‘The only thing I want for my birthday, a birthday gift from you, is for you to jump out of a plane,'” she recalled, adding that she accepted the challenge because he’s so hard to buy gifts for. “It’s hard to find things for Will because he doesn’t necessarily like objects, so he doesn’t like material stuff. So, I was like, ‘Man, if that’s what you really want, then daggonit, I’ll do it.’ I did it for his 50th because that’s what he wanted.”
While Jada always seems fearless, she did admit that she became a little anxious shortly before it came to jump.
“I was kind of anxious before, and I just knew I was going to freak out once I got on the plane,” the 47-year-old sighed. “Because I don’t like heights and I don’t like planes. I don’t like to fly. I hate it actually. I was like, ‘Jada, this is going to be a test for you, just as far as how you can keep your composure and in regards to your faith.'”
Jada’s jump was filmed for an upcoming project, but the star is adamant she won’t be tempted to ever skydive again.
“No. I did it once for his 50th. We’re done!” she laughed.
