Winter Movie Guide 2003: “It Runs in the Family”

It Runs in the Family (formerly A Few Good Years)

The Players: Kirk Douglas, Michael Douglas, Cameron Douglas, Rory Culkin, Bernadette Peters; directed by Fred Schepisi ( Six Degrees of Separation)

The Skinny: This is the story of a dysfunctional New York family, and their attempts to reconcile. Peters plays Michael‘s psychologist wife and the mother of his two sons, played by Cameron and Culkin.

The Bottom Line: Sounds half Royal Tenenbaums, half Igby Goes Down–only starring a different Culkin and an entire three-generation movie star dynasty: Kirk, Michael and his son Cameron.
