Rimes admitted on the talk show The View that she doesn’t remember a thing from her adolescence because it went by so fast, but this one-time child star has matured brilliantly. Having sold 14 million albums, her distinctive voice won her a Grammy in 1996 for best female country vocal performance for “Blue.” She also received the Country Music Association’s Horizon Award in 1997. Her latest album, Twisted Angel, is her fifth.

In 1997 Rimes starred in Holiday in Your Heart, a TV movie adapted from a book she co-wrote with Tom Carter, but she’s most recognizable to movie buffs for her cameo appearance in Coyote Ugly. She also recorded four songs for the soundtrack. Her current hit single, “We Can,” appears on the soundtrack to Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde.
