Young Thug turns down Gucci Mane’s $1 million mixtape offer

Young Thug has rejected a $1 million offer from fellow rapper Gucci Mane to reunite with Rich Homie Quan for a new mixtape.

The Pick Up the Phone hitmaker previously worked with Quan on a series of tracks for Bryan ‘Birdman’ Williams’ Rich Gang crew in 2014, including the hit Lifestyle, but they fell out and went their separate ways in 2015.

On Monday (26Mar18), Gucci tried to encourage the pair to hit the studio again for a new project, offering up the big payday while inviting them to make use of his new recording facility for the get-together.

“I got a million cash for @RichHomieQuan and @youngthug to do one mixtape at the brand new #PolarBearStudios… 12songs from stratch (scratch)!,” he wrote on Twitter.

However, Young Thug has made it clear he doesn’t need the money, suggesting he helped Gucci out financially after the MC was released from prison in early 2016, after serving time for drug and weapons charges.

His response also indicated he had no intention of taking up the mixtape offer, writing, “U no I’m the n**ga got u together wen u came home kid… I’m strait 4life (sic)”.

Rich Homie Quan has yet to publicly comment on the news.
