About 40 minutes away from Dayton, you’ll find the AMC West Chester. Located in the town of West Chester, this AMC offers all the luxuries of other AMCs. You’ll be able to watch new releases in recliner like seats.

Located about 15 minutes outside of Dayton, Cinemark Huber Heights 16 is home to multiple screens, stadium seating, and self-serving ticket kiosks for an unforgettable movie experience. This Cinemark shows all the popular movies out now in the comfort of plush recliner seats.

Let yourself enjoy fast food and alcoholic beverages with the cinema’s endless concessions menu. Check out Cinemark’s beers, wines, frozen mixed drinks, and specialty cocktails. Instead of waiting in line and missing out on your showtime for snacks, order them online with the theater’s “Snacks In A Tap.” When buying tickets online, you have the option of adding food and drink options to your order. Then, you can decide whether you’d like to pick up your food at the concession stand or have it delivered to your seat for a $2 extra fee. It’s so convenient!

Cinemark offers its own rewards program, MovieClub, for all of the intense film fans. Join the program, $9.99 a month, and earn benefits like 20% off of concessions, 1 2D ticket per month, and waived online fees.

Dayton Movie Theaters: The Neon

Enjoy the intimate thrill of Dayton’s independent, non-profit, and art-house cinema at The Neon. The theatre has 2 screens and is known for showing independent and foreign cinema on 35 mm film and digital projectors.

According to their site, The Neon’s mission is “to promote and host film festivals and local filmmakers; to provide a film/video venue for fundraising and promotional events for community non-profit organizations, and to offer educational opportunities for the appreciation of the cinematic arts.”

Known for the best popcorn in Dayton, the cinema offers gourmet coffee, tea, other concession snacks, and an open bar. Cozy up in your chair with a tasty treat while an indie movie plays.

The Neon’s statistics show that about 55,000 people attend the theater yearly. Along with movie screenings, the theater lets you stream films online with their virtual cinema. Pick from a group of films, make an online purchase, and enjoy a movie in the comfort of your own home.

One Google reviewer says, “Every single film that shows here is excellent and thoughtfully chosen by the staff. I’ve been so impressed with their ability to bring quality movies to their audience even though the entire filmmaking and moviegoing industry has been brought to a halt.”

Currently, The Neon is operating with COVID protocols to keep its audiences safe. This includes a mask mandate within the theater, sanitization, and social distancing.

Dayton Movie Theaters: Dixie Twin Drive-In

The Dixie Twin Drive-In gives patrons a blast from the past with a twist of modern technology. Located in Dayton, Ohio, the drive-in screens films from April to the end of October with showtimes on Friday and Saturday nights starting at 8:35 pm In the summer months, screenings extend to 6 days a week.

With 2 screens, audiences can choose between 2 double features of new releases. Tickets prices for adults cost $10 while children ages 5-12 are $5. Once you arrive at the drive-in, you can choose from several food options, including hot meals like chicken fingers, hamburgers, hot dogs, and corn dogs, or opt for movie snack staples like popcorn, candy, and a funnel cake.

Catch a movie on Friday or Saturday night, but then make sure to return Sunday morning for the drive-in’s seasonal Paris Flea Market. Starting at 7 am, you can shop for locally sourced food and merchandise, as well as pick from an assortment of breakfast foods to satisfy your hunger while shopping.

Although some drive-ins are closing due to the expansion and popularity of cinema chains, 1 Google reviewer is thankful the Dixie Twin Drive-In is still running. “Thanks to this one, I can enjoy sharing the drive-in experience with my kids and seeing them have the same fun I did at that age,” the Google reviewer says.

Dayton Movie Theaters: Cinemark The Greene 14 and IMAX

Cinemark The Greene 14 and IMAX sits within The Greene shopping center in Beavercreek, Ohio. The movie theater presents 3D blockbuster films on large projection screens.

With a great location within the complex, you can shop at several different stores before or after your movie. On Monday through Saturday, the movie theater is open from 10 am to 9 pm. On Sundays, the theater stays open from 12 pm to 6 pm.

Getting hungry? Head to dine-in options at the mall, including Asian Cafe, The Cheesecake Factory, or Gravity Burger, among others. If you’re just craving snacks, eat at the theater’s bar and kitchen. Like other Cinemark theaters, you can order your food as you buy your tickets online. From there, you can pick up the snacks at the concession stand or have them brought to your seat when you arrive. Also, grab a great deal with Cinemark’s Discount Tuesdays. Take your friends and family for a Tuesday showing and get reduced priced tickets along with deals on food.

Dayton Movie Theaters: Regal Fairfield Commons & RPX

Regal Fairfield Common & RPX is one of the many Regal Cinemas close to the Dayton area. The movie theater screens new releases on digital projections. The chain is one of the largest and extends geographically across several states, including Ohio.

Like other Regal Cinemas, you can enjoy delectable snacks such as candy and popcorn or go for specialty edible cookie dough, Cinnabon gooey bites, gourmet pizza, boneless chicken wings, and corn dog nuggets.

Dayton Movie Theaters: Cinemark Dayton South 16 + XD

Head about 10 miles south, and you’ll find Cinemark Dayton South 16 + XD. The movie theater is located close to the Mall Woods Shopping Center, and is home to all new releases on the big screen with the comfort of plush recliners.

Like other Cinemarks, this one provides endless food options from popcorn, sodas, pretzels, and hot foods like hamburgers. If you’re looking for adult beverages, head to their open bar, where you can find beer, wine, Pina Coladas, and other specialty cocktails.

This specific Cinemark theatre offers XD, a technology that includes 11 layers of multi-channel surround sound. You’ll have the ultimate moviegoing experience with excellent sound at every moment. Along with surround sound, this theater offers IMAX screenings that let you watch films in 3D. Characters and crazy situations will be right in front of you!

One Google reviewer says, “Marvelous Theater. Clean and I love their luxury loungers.  I’m a Cinemark Movie Club member, so I get one free movie ticket a month and 20% off the snack bar. I always enjoy my time there.”

Like the Google reviewer says, Cinemark provides many chances to get discounted tickets and free movie tickets with their MovieClub or MovieFan Program. While the MovieFan program has different benefits for free, MovieClub offers 1 ticket per month for only $9.99.

Dayton Movie Theaters: Melody 49 Drive-In

One of Ohio’s oldest drive-ins, Melody 49 Drive-In, began operations in 1966. Initially having 1 screen, the drive-in would play classic movies on 35mm and 70mm. Now, the theater has 2 operating screens that show double features. These features range from new releases, family-friendly favorites, and classics.

Movies play on Friday and Saturday and start around 8:30 pm. Tickets for adults are priced at only $8, and children ages 6-11 are $2. Along with reasonably priced tickets, the drive-in is known for its 3-lane snack bar that can serve around 2,000 customers within 30 minutes.

Melody 49 also screens movie concerts specifically made for drive-in theaters. On August 29th, 2020, the drive-in shared a once-in-a-lifetime concert experience with Metallica featuring Three Days Grace.

Like indoor movie theaters, this drive-in operates in rain or shine. So if you don’t enjoy being outside in the rain, make sure you check the weather before buying your tickets. Melody 49 accepts various payment methods, including cash and credit or debit card.

Many patrons love taking their children to this drive-in. One Google reviewer says it reminds them of their younger days. “There are so few left,” the Google reviewer says. “It’s nice to share a piece of my childhood with them.”

Dayton Movie Theaters: Air Force Museum Theatre

Catch space and soldier-inspired films at Dayton’s Air Force Museum Theatre. The museum itself is the largest military aviation museum. It features 350 different aerospace vehicles and missiles that are free for the public to see.

Inside the museum is a digital 3D theater that projects larger-than-life movies for audiences. Tickets cost around $10 for the public. The cinema is currently playing films centered around astronauts, space junk, D-Day Normandy, and fighter pilots. Showtimes begin in the late morning and end in the early evening.

While there are no written Google reviews currently, 2 reviewers have given the theater 5 stars. As movie theaters begin to reopen, theaters like the Air Force Museum Theatre ensure safety precautions amid COVID-19.

Dayton Movie Theaters: Little Art Theatre

In Yellow Springs you’ll find a memorable landmark called the Little Art Theatre. The intimate theater began its run in 1929 and turned into a non-profit organization in 2009. With a colorful bright marquee and beautiful house lights, the cinema makes sure to keep its nostalgic tradition alive as it modernizes its digital technology.

The theater screens first-run independent and foreign films, documentaries, cinema classics, and special film events. According to its website, the theater’s mission is to “provide an experience that entertains, informs, and inspires.”

Additionally, Little Art Theatre holds various events like a New Year’s Eve celebration, student film premieres, and festival partnerships with nonprofits. By teaming up with nonprofits including the 365 Project, Community Solutions, Tecumseh Land Trust, NAMI-YS, and WYSO, the theater shows important documentary screenings.

Interested in learning about Yellow Springs history? The theater’s homecoming series invites successful former residents of the village to speak to a large audience about how growing up in the area affected their lives as well as to give advice to their younger selves.

While the theater closed down in 2020, it is now coming back to life with a reopening on September 24th, 2021. It will be screening several movies, including Nine Days, Road Runner, Summer of Soul, and Promising Young Woman.

Cinépolis at Austin Landing is a “state-of-the-art” movie theater located about 20 minutes from Dayton. The 12-screen cinema shows all of the newest releases in the comfort of leather reclining seats.
