2017 Is A Crucial Year For ‘Harry Potter’ Fans

Warner Bros.

It’s been 19 years since the demise of Lord Voldemort at the Battle of Hogwarts, which means a ton has changed in the Wizarding World for the boy (now the man) who lived and his friends. Professor McGonagall is now the Hogwarts headmistress, Neville Longbottom is teaching some second years Herbology and Nearly Headless Nick will be celebrating his 525th deathday. However, though all of these things are fab, this still isn’t what is most pivotal about 2017 for Harry Potter fans.

From what we know about the epilogue in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, 2017 also marks the year that Harry and Ginny Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, and Draco and Astoria Malfoy will be sending their three little ones off to Hogwarts for the first time. If you had the opportunity to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child you probably know a lot more about Albus Severus Potter’s time at Hogwarts then we do, but we do know that it means a new era in the Wizarding World has officially begun.
