Adam Sandler: ‘I love every movie I’ve ever made’

Adam Sandler doesn’t understand when people refer to his career-low points, as he loves every film he’s ever been in.

While the 53-year-old actor won fans worldwide with his performances in movies such as The Waterboy, The Wedding Singer, and more recently, the critically acclaimed Uncut Gems, his outings in films such as Little Nicky and I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry failed to impress viewers or critics.

But Adam remains proud of every role he’s had in his lengthy career, telling 60 Minutes’ Sharyn Alfonsi: “Man, I don’t know what the downs have been. I mean, maybe in some people, when they write about me, they talk about my downs. But I don’t have any downs. I love every movie I’ve made. I’ve never in my entire career phoned one thing in.”

He also insisted that while the negative reviews affected him early on in his movie star days, he’s become more resilient in recent years, and now isn’t bothered about what critics write.

“That stuff doesn’t hurt me anymore,” he said. “I think it hurt me 20 years ago. It got me 20 years ago. I was – kinda shell-shocked like, ‘What happened? They say I suck?’ I thought I was good at this.”
