Now that he’s done filming the sequel to a major franchise, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 star Andrew Garfield is scaling things down a bit for his next project. The actor is set to star in the indie drama 99 Homes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Garfield will play Dennis Nash, a man who gets evicted from his home by a real estate broker. In order to get his house back, Dennis starts working for the broker. He soon finds himself kicking others out of their homes and helping the broker embezzle money. The film, written and directed by Ramin Bahrani, will take on the prevalent economic issues that the country is facing.

It’s nice to see Garfield take a break from the superhero genre, seeing as he has at least two more Amazing Spider-Mans to go. Maybe we’ll see him switch between blockbusters and smaller indies over the next few years.
