Kick it! Ad-Rock is fighting for his right to act.
Adam Horovitz, better known as “Ad-Rock” of the Beastie Boys, is in discussions to join Ben Stiller and Naomi Watts in Noah Baumbach’s indie movie While We’re Young, TheWrap confirms. The musician, who began shaking his rump with the legendary group when he was only 16, made his acting debut in 1989 as Tim ‘Chino’ Doolan in Lost Angels, followed by smaller roles in A Kiss Before Dying, Roadside Prophets, and Godspeed.
While We’re Young, written and directed by Baumbach, stars Stiller and Watts as a married couple in their 40s who befriend a free-spirited younger couple played by Amanda Seyfried and Girls‘ Adam Driver. Although Horovitz has not taken on a big movie role in 20 years, he is in talks to play a married friend of the childless Stiller and Watts who can no longer relate to their desire to hang out with a young, hipster couple.
Make some noise: the long awaited project, produced by Scott Rudin and Eli Bush, is a sure shot to finally begin production this fall.
