Emma Watson, Beauty and the Beast, Disney, 052316

We’ve been desperately awaiting the first trailer for Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast ever since Emma Watson was cast as Belle back in 2015, and our dreams have finally come true. This morning Good Morning America released the first teaser trailer for the film, and it’s just as magical as we all hoped it would be.

The trailer gives us a quick glimpse of Belle arriving at the Beast’s castle, and there is a voice-over of the infamous Lumiere and Cogsworth saying, “Look, it’s a girl!…What if she’s the one?” Though the film will not be released until March 17, 2017, the castle and rose are enough to get us excited.  The rest of the Beauty and the Beast cast includes Luke Evans (as Gaston), Dan Stevens (as the Beast), Josh Gad (as LeFou), Emma Thompson (as Mrs. Potts), and Kevin Kline as Belle’s father, Maurice). Members of Beast’s household staff include Audra McDonald(as Garderobe, the wardrobe), Ian McKellen(as Cogsworth, the clock)Gugu Mbatha-Raw (as Plumette, the feather duster), Ewan McGregor (as Lumière, the candelabra), and Stanley Tucci (as Cadenza, a grand piano and original character for the live action film).

Watch the trailer for yourself here and listen for the iconic theme song from the original film. Bill Condon will be directing the film, with The Perks of Being a Wallflower scribe Stephen Chbosky on script duty.
