Behind All The Love For Pups in of ‘A Dog’s Purpose’

It’s been well documented that a stunt dog was forced into some water in a TMZ video released weeks ago.

While that video is appalling, it does not represent what the actual film is. ‘A Dog’s Purpose’ is supposed to be a love letter to dogs and their humans, where a dog (voiced by Josh Gad) grows up with a boy and when the pup passes, it goes on to live full lives with other loving families.

In the above interview, go behind the scenes of what it was like for the actors to work with the k-9’s. Bryce Gheisar tells us which dog he loved to work with the most, K.J. Apa talks about how well trained the dog was, Dennis Quaid speaks on the emotional aspect of the script, John Ortiz discusses what he loves about having a dog, Kirby Howell-Baptiste explains how the film is split up, Josh Gad says how the movie changed the relationship between him and his dog, and Britt Robertson talks about unconditional love.

A Dog’s Purpose comes out on January 27, 2017.
